Dive sites

Shore dives - transportation of the divers and equipment to the dive sites is done by the van cars, possible to follow with own vehicle.

Boat dives - operated by "Alexandra" rib inflatable boat, suitable to fit approximatelly 10 divers, availbility of the boat dives depend on the weather and wind conditions and required minium group of participants. Boat dives have an additional fees.

Please note that the choice of the dive sites are up to the instructor, it depends on various factors like weather, level of the divers in the group on a certain day, etc. Dive sites cannot be guaranteed or specifically requested as sometimes the changes are very last minute.

Lot of listed dive sites below have been just discovered and described in the summer 2024. We are still exploring new places. 

Explorations are mostly made by staff or small groups of divers, using seacraft scooters GO!.

The Reef

  • Kastelia Bay

Type: Shore dive
Max depth: 23m
Suitable for: Divers of all levels
Description: A reef located at the exit of Kastelia Bay full of marine life with visibility in excess of 20m. Lots of overhangs and swimthroughs full of beautiful red sponges and spiral tube worms. An easy relaxing dive with duration of around 60 mins.

The Labyrinth

Suitable for: Divers of all levels
Description: Huge rocks fallen from the nearby cliffs create a labyrinth of corridors for divers to swim along and under. Light rays illuminate parts of the corridor for some beautiful underwater scenery. Ideal for beginners or divers that haven't dived for some time.

The Point

Description: A dive site where there are canyon rock formation with spectacular swimthroughs. Great light play and easy conditions for a very relaxing dive.

The Garden

  • Kastelia Bay

Suitable for: Divers of all levels
Description: Possible to see big groups of fishes over there. Fantastic rock formations with some hard corals.

Sea Bream Alley

Suitable for: Advanced divers
Description: Two reefs running parallel form an alley that shelters large schools of sea bream and sardines. A fantastic window in one of the reefs allows us to swim through to the outside where large groupers and barracuda are often seen.

Fokias Reef

Suitable for: Divers of all levels
Description: Typical Mediterranean underwater scenery, rocky bottom with ocean grass-wrack in between. Great visibility and lots of spiny and slipper lobsters.

Seagull Point

  • Fokias Bay

Type: Boat dive
Max depth: 18m+
Suitable for: Divers of all levels
Description: Great underwater landscape, where big fishes can be seen, that is why there are seagulls hounting around.

Mira

  • Fokias Bay

Suitable for: Advanced divers
Description: Still not well discovered. Description to come.

Skrofa

Suitable for: Divers at all levels
Description: Huge underwater rocky reef formation, sometimes strong currents. Divers can make a 360 degrees round of the formation during hte dive.

Neptun's Cave

  • Pigadia - Ahata Cliff

Type: Boat dive

Suitable for: Advanced divers
Description: One of our beloved dive sites preferred by our divers. It is a hugue cave which has the netrance at 25 meters and then becomes shallower. There is always exit visible, however there is not much light. There are plenty of shrimps possible to be seen as well as hard corals. It is a magical dive.

Gernick Wreck

Description: Very easy accessable Ship Wreck in one of the best beaches on Karpathos - Diakoftis Beach. It is an exploded wreck in pieces now. Used to be a German Navy and then became a Cargo Boat, which crashed in 1970s while transporting Bananas and Peanuts. It was considered to hold secrets so German Navy decided to conduct explosions to destroy hidden treasures.

Ahata Arch

Max depth: 30m +
Suitable for: Divers of all levels
Description: Wall dive with the divers swimming along a vertical cliff. Pelagic fish species (tunas, amberjacks) occasionally visit and hunt in the area. Turn around point is through an impressive arch.

Ahata Caves

Description: Explore the bay at Ahata with possibility to see stingrays and puffer fish. Finish the dive by visiting one or two caverns where octopus are often found outside.

Rolling Stones

  • Pigadia - Ahata Cliff

Description: Wall dive with spectacular rock formations. 

Bat Cave

  • Ahata - Kyra Panagia Cliff

Type: Boat dive
Max depth: 20m +
Suitable for: Divers at all levels
Description: Boat is anchored in a spectacular cave where you can find bats. The descend and ascend is in the nice small bay-rock formation formed by cliffs, then divers get to explore a cliff slowly descending to great dephts. 

Vronti Caves

Description: Visit 3 different caverns in one dive. Impressive colour as light rays illuminates the cavern through the roof. A monk seal that lives in the area has sometimes been seen waiting for the divers at the exit of one of the caverns. Max penetration inside the cavern is 30m.

St Peter's Cathedral

Description: Wonderful shallow reef teeming with life. The highlight of the dive is the 'cathedral' - a huge chamber with many entrances and beams of light from the ceiling.

St Peter's Wall

Suitable for: Divers of all levels
Description: Explore the deep section of St Peter's reef. Here there is a wall with impressive orange sponges, sometimes teeming with nudibranchs and larger fish are often seen in this area. On the way to the wall a short tunnel is passed through.

Bullet Reef

Description: Lots of large dusky groupers and gold-blotch groupers live in the reef. At the shallowest point of the reef a plateau at 20m lots of ammunition dating back to World War 2 can be found.

Fisherman's cave

  • Pigadia - Ardani Cliff

Description: Boat its anchored in the relax spot of fishermans, when there i bad weather. It is a fantastic dive site with big tunas and groupers to see.

Therapy Reef

Description: Dive site on the corner of Pigadia and Amoopi. Easy waters, no currents, fantastic visibility. Named a "therapy reef " as it used to be a therapy ;) for one of our instructors to dive there.

MS Dias Wreck

  • Diafani

Suitable for: Advanced divers
Description: A dive at MS Dias wreck sunk in 1988. The wreck is often visited by amberjacks and it is in pretty good condition. Available if there is big enough group of participants.

Falcon Reef

  • Diafani

Suitable for: Divers of all levels
Description: Amazing underwater landscape full of marine life. Groupers, amberjacks, dentex, moray eels and lobsters are not an uncommon view. Available if there is big enough group of participants.

Tenaron S Wreck

  • Tristomo, North Karpathos

Type: Boat dive
Max depth: 18m+
Suitable for: Advanced divers
Description: A wreck of a ship which used to transport illigal cigarettes. Still very well preserved, the ship as a whole is beautifully visible.

M/Y Spetses M

  • Agios Minas

Type: Boat dive
Max depth: 45m
Suitable for: Technical divers
Description: Special dive available on the request. A dive at the wreck of motor yacht Spetses M or the Tequila wreck as we like to call it due to the large amount of tequila bottles that can be found on the wreck! The wreck sunk in 2007 and lies intact on an upright position at a min depth of 40 meters while the bottom is at around 45 meters.

The Marathon Transverse

Suitable for: Technical divers
Description: Special dive available on the request. A marathon 2hrs long dive for those that like their dives long! Will start from Fokias bay and will cover the distance to Kastellia bay where we will finish the dive. This is a nitrox only dive on double tanks for divers with good air consumption.
